Circular RNA (circRNA) has a closed circular structure and is a hot spot of recent research. It exists in large quantities in the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells, and is mainly produced by pre-mRNA through variable shear processing, and is not affected by RNA exonucleases. In addition, circRNA also has the functions of regulating other types of RNA and regulating protein activity. These characteristics make circRNA have the potential to develop new diagnosis and treatment methods for diseases, and the research significance is great. The main application areas of circRNA sequencing include research on the pathogenesis of diseases such as tumors; changes in the regulation of gene expression during growth and development; other research directions concerned with the regulation of gene transcription and expression.
